saunders + gordon gear up for 'the race'
Top audio facility posts new adventure game show series for ITV2
October 9th, 2001: Leading sound recording facility, Saunders + Gordon, is currently working on 15 one-hour programmes for a major new series entitled 'The Race'. The facility is providing all of the sound effects,
design and voice-over recording for the shows that begin airing on ITV2 this month. The series is produced by First Circle Films and is being post-produced at Laughing Buddha Post.
'The Race' follows four teams of two as they attempt to travel 360 degrees around the world via 13 cities and across six continents. Kicking off in Greenwich, London, the teams, carrying all they can manage on their
backs, will be supplied with a map of the world and a handful of cash – the rest is up to them. Each week, they will be set a task to earn extra money to survive.
In addition to enhancing the sound for the overall programme, Saunders + Gordon also created sound effects to tie in with the visual effects such as wipes, fades etc. The facility was also responsible for recording
the narration, which was provided by Boyzone's Keith Duffy. Saunders + Gordon Sound Designer, Cliff Rossiter, used Solid State Logic's Scenaria to post the project. "The Scenaria is ideal for long-form projects
such as 'The Race' due to its in-built vision track which allows you to instantly access any part of the programme."
Saunders + Gordon has also just put the finishing touches to a voice-over by Martin Clunes for a three minute short on the Born Free Foundation. The short will be played on all Britannia flights encouraging people to
donate their left over foreign currency.
