Sending Audio via e-mail

We can easily e-mail your audio to any e-mail address.
Normally audio is sent as a WAV or AIFF file. A typical 30 second commercial recorded in stereo at CD quality (44.1Khz, 16 Bit) would be a 5 MB file. This would take S+G about 4 mins to transmit (assuming a good connection and its not raining in Timbuktu!).
This is fine so long as the e-mail server we are sending to will accept files of this size. Many don't (especially Free services)

To overcome this we have 3 alternatives

  • We can compress the file to an MP3 file reducing its size to about a quarter. The pay off is the quality will suffer. The more compression, the lower the quality. This maybe fine for clients to approve a commercial say but not so good to broadcast.
  • We can send the audio via a third party saying who the e-mail is for. They will send an e-mail to the recipient asking them to connect to the internet and go to a specific web address. Once there, the recipient can download the file. We are notified once the file is downloaded.
  • If the recipient has access to an FTP server, we can send the file directly to them
